Questions
Do the cars really climb at 25 percent?
Yes. The rack between Treeline and the Saddle Gallery holds 25 percent, the steepest standard-gauge rack section in the fictional alps. Two cog wheels grip the lamellar rack, so the gradient is the rack's problem, not the brakes'.
Is the railway open in winter?
The Panorama Line runs every day of the year, weather permitting. After heavy snowfall the morning service starts with the plough car, and we publish delays on the timetable page before 06:30.
Can I bring a bicycle or a dog?
Dogs travel free on a short lead. Bicycles ride the freight hook on the 13:05 and 16:22 departures, two per train, first come first served.
How long should I allow for the summit?
Two hours at the top covers the panorama deck, the observatory tour, and something at the revolving restaurant without rushing. The whole round trip from the valley is about three and a half hours.
What happens in a storm?
When the summit wind passes 90 km/h the upper section closes and trains turn at Treeline. The decision is made by the dispatcher at Falzgrund, and the board above tells you before you buy.
Is the site a real railway?
No. High Spur Railway, Falzgrund, and the Sonnenberg are entirely fictional, invented for a design portfolio piece. No tickets exist, no trains run, and this site sells nothing.
Something else? Write to the station desk. The desk answers mail the day it arrives, because the post rides the 08:04.
