When to come
May and October are the quiet months: empty cars, long light, half the panorama and none of the queue. July and August fill the summit deck by noon; take the 09:30 and beat it. Winter belongs to the plough car and the Night Owl.
Getting there, being there
Falzgrund sits at the head of the valley, four hours from the city by rail and bus, and the last hour is the good part: the bus follows the lake while the rack line climbs the far wall above you, which is the best advertisement a railway ever had.

Up top
Two hours is right for the deck, the observatory, and a slow rosti. Bring a layer even in August; the station sits at 2,540 metres and the wind keeps its own opinions. Strollers and sledges ride free in the level-floor cars.
Access
Every car takes wheelchairs at the Falzgrund and Treeline platforms, with staff assistance at both. The summit hall and deck are step-free; the observatory tour has one flight, and the staff carry a portable ramp for it. Ask at any desk.
