Section 01

The workhorse

Nine cars a day between the valley and the crossing loop, timed so that upbound Panorama trains never wait more than six minutes at Treeline. The Shuttle carries the post up and the post down, the daily bread, and on Thursdays the district nurse.

Section 02

Freight hook

Two bicycles per train on the 13:05 and 16:22, hung on the freight hook behind the guard's platform. Sledges and prams ride inside; there is level floor since car 07 arrived in 1998.

Section 03

The school rule

The 08:04 carries the school carriage: front three benches, windows down, voices permitted. It has been the loudest departure on the mountain for sixty years and the timetable notes it as such.
